Choosing The Right Flood Barrier

Stop Log Flood Barrier
M3 Floodtec supplies and installs Stop Log Flood Barriers for doors, garages, entrances and wider openings. These demountable flood defence systems use lightweight aluminium panels that stack between fixed side channels or removable posts, allowing the protection height and width to be configured around the property and its flood risk.
Tested Flood Resistance
The Stop Log Barrier has been independently tested by Kiwa and approved to BS 851188-1:2019+A1:2021. This provides independent verification of its flood resistance performance. Its modular design allows individual panels to be added or removed depending on the required protection height, making it suitable for residential and commercial applications.
Strong, Lightweight & Reusable
Aluminium construction provides a balance of strength, corrosion resistance and manageable weight during deployment. When flooding is expected, the panels are installed into the supporting channels and secured against the sealing system. Once the flood risk has passed, the demountable sections can be removed and stored ready for future use.
Flood Defender Barrier
The M3 Floodtec Flood Defender Barrier is a lightweight, removable flood barrier designed for doors, garages, shopfronts and pedestrian or vehicle access points. It uses a single lightweight aluminium barrier panel with specialist seals and a range of fixing options, allowing the system to be adapted to different property types and openings.
BSI Kitemark™ Certified Performance
The Flood Defender Barrier is independently tested and certified to British Standard BS 851188 and carries the BSI Kitemark™ under Licence No. KM 713574. It uses an aluminium frame and EPDM rubber seals to create an effective seal across the opening.
Lightweight & Easy To Deploy
Flood Defender Barriers can be manufactured up to 1500mm wide and 1000mm high per board, with several fixing systems available for different doors, frames and surrounding walls. Under normal circumstances, deployment should take no longer than around five minutes, making the barrier suitable where removable protection can be installed before floodwater reaches the property.
Flood Defender Swing Barrier
The Flood Defender Swing Barrier provides a permanently attached alternative to a removable flood barrier. When not required, the hinged barrier sits away from the opening. When flooding is expected, it can be swung into position and secured, making it particularly useful for entrances where rapid deployment is important.
Deploys In Seconds
The hinged design allows the barrier to be deployed in less than 10 seconds without having to retrieve and position a separate removable barrier. It can be used across single and double doors, garage doors, shop access points and suitable fire escape openings.
Engineered Sealing System
The barrier combines a lightweight engineered barrier panel with a sealed aluminium frame and closed-cell EPDM rubber seals. Bespoke sizes are available up to 2500mm wide and 1200mm high, allowing the system to be manufactured around a range of larger openings.
Flood Defender Wall
The Flood Defender Wall extends the Flood Defender Barrier system across openings that are too wide for a single barrier panel. Multiple barrier sections are positioned between removable posts, creating a modular flood defence for larger residential, commercial and infrastructure applications.
Designed For Wide Openings
Using a series of demountable posts that can be removed when the barrier is not required, the system can be configured around wide entrances, garages, loading bays and vehicle access points. The individual barrier sections are installed between the posts when flooding is expected and removed afterwards.
Maintaining Everyday Access
When the barrier is not deployed, the removable components can be stored away to keep the opening accessible. The system can incorporate a flush, or dead-level, threshold, helping maintain everyday pedestrian and vehicle access while providing fixing points for the flood defence when needed.
Self-Activating Flood Barrier
The Self-Activating Flood Barrier (SAB) is a passive flood defence system designed for locations where relying on manual deployment may not be suitable. Passive means the system does not need somebody to put it into position: rising floodwater itself causes the barrier to lift automatically.
Automatic Flood Defence
During normal conditions, the barrier remains below ground so traffic, pedestrians and views are not unnecessarily restricted. As floodwater reaches the system, the barrier automatically rises into position without requiring electricity, manual operation or an external flood warning system.
Designed For Large-Scale Applications
The Self-Activating Flood Barrier is a bespoke system that can be configured for long continuous runs, with post breaks at intervals of up to 12 metres. It is suited to commercial developments, infrastructure and community flood defence schemes where automatic operation, low visual impact and long-term flood resilience are important. The system is also BIM Level 2 compliant.
Flood Defence Glass Wall Barrier
Flood Defence Glass Wall Barriers provide permanent, passive flood protection using large panels of high-strength glass within durable structural frames. Because the system remains permanently in position, it does not need to be manually deployed when flooding is expected.
High-Strength Construction
The system uses blast and ballistic grade glass with anodised aluminium or G316 stainless steel frames. Single-frame and modular configurations are available, allowing the barrier to be designed around the individual building and the required area of protection.
Permanent Protection With Clear Views
Glass flood barriers are particularly useful where permanent flood resistance is required but maintaining natural light and visibility is also important. They are designed for a service life in excess of 50 years with minimal maintenance, providing a long-term option for suitable riverside, waterfront, residential and commercial locations.
Dam Easy® Flood Barrier
The Dam Easy® Flood Barrier is a removable flood barrier designed primarily for domestic doorways and entrances. Rather than being manufactured to one fixed opening, the barrier uses an adjustable panel and inflatable seal to create a close fit within a suitable doorway.
Quick To Install
The adjustable design allows the barrier to be fitted without specialist installation tools and can be deployed in under five minutes. This makes it a straightforward option for homeowners looking for a removable barrier that can be stored away and installed when flooding is expected.
Adjustable Sealing System
Once positioned within the opening, the barrier expands to fit and an inflatable rubber seal is used to close gaps around the panel. This creates a physical barrier designed to help reduce floodwater entering through the protected doorway.
