Heritage Timber Doors Case Study

The Problem

Historic England protects and manages the historic environment and working with owners, friends groups, developers and other stakeholders they seek to find solutions for ‘at risk’ historic buildings, places and sites across England that preserve our heritage.

Located in Wescott to the east of Dorking Surrey, Crooked Acre is a Grade II listed building therefore any changes to the appearance of the property require Heritage approval.

Recent flooding and the tests of time had taken its toll on the timber doors and frames to the property so permission was sought to have these replaced with new flood proof timber doors to protect the building from further inundation.

M3 Floodtec offered their KitemarkTM Certified, BS 851188 tested Accoya Timber Flood door as replacements, which were approved and signed off by Historic England.
