London 042

Client: Morpeth Mansions

The Problem

Morpeth Mansions and Morpeth Terrace are large Georgian apartment blocks located in the Westminster Borough of London.

Located right opposite Westminster Cathedral, Mclarens Insurance contacted M3 Floodtec to assist in putting together a suitable proposal for Flood Resilience to pass the strict Westminster Council Planning restrictions.

After a full survey of all the possible flood entry points into the building we proposed a scheme to install a varied mixture of our Accoya Timber Flooddoors and flag windows to replace the existing timber communal and apartment doors.

Each existing door style being different to the next and all replacement flood doors had to be matched to the existing style and size as closely as possible. The installation also included M3 patented, BS851188 KitemarkTM Certified and coloured flood resilient airbricks.

The fitting team installed over a 3-week period and various challenges had to be overcome due to the varied types of thresholds at communal door entry points and access issues on a busy London Street.
