Client: TAG Construction

The Problem

M3Floodtec were contacted by TAG construction to provide a flood defence package for the basement laboratory at London’s Imperial College. The doors were required to protect the college in the event of a surge tank failure located within the laboratory to protect the rest of the building from flooding.

M3 Foodtec where tasked with supplying both Defender demountable barrier systems as well as Defender steel flood and fire doors, with additional specification to have glazed panels fitted in the doors such that someone can look into the room to check the room is not flooded.

M3 Floodtec offered to design and supply a fire and flood rated option providing a 4 hour protection in case of a fire as well as permanent flood protection.

  • The task of taking out the old timber fire doors and replacing the door with steel flood - fire doors with fire ratings, was undertaken and completed within 1 day
  • Colour matching to the existing door units was achieved with a 2 stage powder coat finish
