Boston 055

Client: Chestnut Homes Ltd

The Problem

Established in 1988 Chestnut Homes Ltd are one of the leading new build developers in Lincolnshire and the East Midland region specialising in high quality housing through to apartments for first time buyers.

As part of a large development of houses at Heron Way, Boston, planning requirements dictated that Flood protection measures needed to be designed into the build as the site falls within the EA flood zone 3a and the subsequent flood risk assessment gave several alternatives for the developer to consider.

In the end Chestnut Homes Ltd opted to install flood resilient measures and utilisation of passive flood prevention into the properties. They selected M3 Floodtec to provide and install the Flood doors and windows for the scheme using the Defender range of Composite and UPVC Defender flood doors which are kite marked to BS 851188-1:2019 which is the latest flood standard and recognised by the EA.

Subsequently other developments are going through planning.

As well as Flood resilient doors M3 Floodtec are also supplying non flood doors and windows including all cavity closures to all of the ongoing developments.
